What conditions will affect the service life of lithium battery?



1、The important factors affecting the internal resistance of the battery are:


(1) Use time of the battery: With the increase of the use time, the loss of electrolyte, the corrosion of the electrode plate and the connecting belt, the vulcanization of the electrode plate, the deformation of the electrode plate, the reduction of the active material and other factors, the battery capacity decreases, and the battery internal resistance increases.


(2) Battery charging: Since the electrolyte penetrates deep into the battery, the thickness of the electrode surface material and the porosity of the electrode surface are different. Different batteries have great internal resistance and charge.


(3) Temperature: When the ambient temperature changes, such as rising, the diffusion of the reaction material is accelerated, the charge transfer, the electrode dynamic process and the material transfer are simpler, and the internal resistance of the battery is reduced. If not, increase.


(4) Battery type: Different manufacturers, different types and different types of batteries have different internal resistances due to different formulations of electrodes, electrolytes and separator materials, different battery structures and different assembly processes.


(5) Measurement of signal frequency: At present, many battery internal resistance measurements actually measure battery impedance, including capacitive reactance. The size of the capacitive reactance and the frequency of the measured signal make the measurement of the internal resistance of the battery unobjective. For the sake of objectivity, the signal-based measurement current and voltage should be connected to the analysis method to remove the battery capacitance measurement, so the measurement is independent of the measurement signal frequency, i.e., at any measurement signal frequency.


(6) There is a unique resistance measurement result in both measurement and measurement current economy: for large current measurement, the measurement signal and the time to close the measurement signal are increased. Since the establishment and stabilization of polarization is a changing process, different currents, different measurement times and different polarizations make the measurement results of battery internal resistance unobjective. In order to be objective, the internal resistance should be measured with a small signal current as much as possible. According to experiments, the measured current is less than or equal to 0.05c10 (where C10 is the capacity of the battery at a 10-hour discharge rate).


2. Under the influence of overcharge, the long-term charge is too high, and the consumption of water and H+ increases the positive electrode. Due to the reaction of oxygen, the nearby acidity increases the positive electrode, and the grid accelerates corrosion, resulting in grid refinement, accelerating battery corrosion and reducing battery capacity. Severe water loss can cause the battery to dry out, thereby affecting the battery's lifespan



3. Influence of over-discharge of battery Over-discharge mainly occurs when the battery supplies power to the load for a long time after the AC power failure. When the battery voltage is too low or even zero, a large amount of lead sulfate in the battery will be adsorbed on the cathode of the battery to form the sulfate of the battery. Lead sulfate is an insulator, and its composition has a large negative impact on the battery's charge-discharge performance. Therefore, the more sulfates that form the cathode, the greater the internal resistance of the battery, the worse the charge and discharge performance of the battery, and the shorter the service life of the battery.
