The most important factor for the quality of lithium iron phosphate battery is the quality of the battery cell. The performance grade of the battery cell basically determines the overall performance of the lithium iron phosphate battery for recreational vehicles.
At present, the battery cells of the RV lithium iron phosphate battery mainly include the square aluminum shell battery cells, the cylindrical steel shell battery cells and the aluminum plastic film soft pack battery cells. From the perspective of the same capacity, the soft pack lithium iron phosphate battery cells in these three types of battery cells are much lighter in weight and volume than the other two types. For long-distance travel, the lighter the items you carry, the better. Although the steel shell or aluminum shell lithium iron phosphate battery will become much lighter, it is still not as light as the soft wrapped lithium iron phosphate battery. Under the same power demand, it may be necessary to prepare two to three lead-acid batteries, while lithium iron phosphate batteries only need one. Of course, in terms of price, lithium iron phosphate batteries with good performance and quality are 2 to 3 times more expensive than lead-acid batteries, but in normal use, their service life is more than twice that of lead-acid batteries.
When purchasing a lithium iron phosphate battery, you should be alert to whether the battery cell you are purchasing is a cascade cell. The price or quotation of this type of battery is generally half or less than that of a new cell. The lithium iron phosphate battery made of this type of cell has no feeling at the beginning of use, but after a short period of use, it is easy to see rapid capacity decline, that is, the service time of the battery is shortened.
