AGV trolleys are widely used in various transportation links to realize automatic operation, which greatly improves the efficiency of transportation. At the same time, it is also an environmentally friendly transportation vehicle that provides power for itself through batteries. The AGV car will issue an alarm when the current drops to a certain value. At this time, the system will notify the staff to issue an instruction to automatically enter the charging area for charging. When it is fully charged, it will start working again. Therefore, the battery of the AGV car directly affects the battery life of the AGV, which in turn affects the work efficiency.


In fact, the power supply mode of the AGV has a great impact on the overall performance of the AGV, which directly affects the endurance of the AGV. One working cycle of the AGV consists of discharge and charging time, and its charging ratio directly determines the AGV's operating efficiency. Selecting a suitable battery and charging the battery correctly can shorten the charging time of the battery on the one hand, and prolong the discharging time of the battery on the other hand, thereby increasing the proportion of the working time of the AGV in the entire cycle and improving the efficiency of the AGV.



Several kinds of batteries commonly used in AGV unmanned trucks are: nickel-cadmium batteries, nickel-hydrogen batteries, lithium batteries, lead-acid batteries, etc. The following are the characteristics of AGV battery manufacturer Topband to share with you:


Nickel-cadmium battery

The positive active material is mainly nickel, and the negative active material is mainly an alkaline battery made of cadmium. The internal resistance of the nickel-cadmium battery used in the AGV car is large, and the voltage change is small during the discharge process. Compared with other types of batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries are resistant to overcharge or leakage and are easy to operate. The discharge voltage is slightly different according to its discharge current. It is generally 1.2V. The discharge termination voltage of the nickel-cadmium battery is 1.0V/CELL. Discharge more than 500 times.


Ni-MH battery

Nickel is a main positive active material, and its negative active material is mainly an alkaline battery made of a hydrogen storage alloy. Nickel-metal hydride batteries are improved from nickel-cadmium batteries, which are more expensive than nickel-cadmium batteries, and have poor memory effect and less environmental pollution. The special charger can be quickly charged in one hour, and its self-discharge performance is better than that of Ni-Cd batteries.


Lead-acid battery

The electrodes used are mainly lead and its oxides, and the electrolyte is a battery of sulfuric acid solution. AGV lead-acid battery is a widely used battery. Lead-acid batteries have the advantages of good reversibility, stable voltage characteristics, long life, wide application range, abundant raw materials, renewable utilization and low cost.


Lithium battery

The AGV lithium battery uses a non-aqueous electrolyte solution and uses lithium metal or lithium alloy as the negative electrode material. It has high energy density, and the energy density is 2 times higher than that of high-capacity nickel-cadmium batteries. The average voltage used is as high as 3.6V, which is 3 times that of nickel-cadmium batteries and nickel-hydrogen batteries. The applicable voltage is stable and the capacity is large. The operating temperature is -20 degrees to 60 degrees. It can be charged and discharged for a long time. After 500 discharges, its capacity can be at least as high as 80%. Lithium batteries have the characteristics of high energy density, high voltage, and stable operation, and are widely used.
