During the charging and discharging process, Li+ intercalates and deintercalates back and forth between the two electrodes: during charging, Li+ is deintercalated from the positive electrode, intercalated into the negative electrode through the electrolyte, and the negative electrode is in a lithium-rich state; during discharge, the opposite is true.

So, do you know why the life of lithium-ion batteries is shortened?

1. The choice of lithium-ion battery materials is the most important reason. If the material of poor quality is selected, no matter how good the craftsmanship is, it cannot be guaranteed.

2. The amount of electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries, the main function of the electrolyte is to transmit lithium ions between the positive and negative poles, the lack of electrolyte volume is generally the insufficient amount of liquid injected during production, and the battery is consumed for a long time. a reason. Insufficient electrolyte volume slows lithium-ion transport, draining power and reducing voltage.

3. Moisture, too much moisture will affect the positive and negative electrodes in the lithium-ion battery, and will also have side reactions with the active materials of the positive and negative electrodes, destroying the internal structure and affecting the cycle life of the lithium-ion battery.

4. Charging and discharging will eventually reduce the active material of the battery and cause changes in other chemical materials, resulting in increased internal resistance and permanent capacity loss. However, permanent capacity loss occurs even when the battery is not in use.

5. The loss of negative active material, such as the shedding of negative active material and the decomposition of binder, will cause some negative active material particles to lose the conductive connection with the conductive network, making it impossible to intercalate lithium, resulting in the loss of lithium-ion battery capacity.

6. Improper working environment of lithium-ion batteries will directly affect the length of life: the charging temperature of lithium-ion batteries is 0°C to 45°C, and the discharge temperature of lithium-ion batteries is -20°C to 60°C.

7. Charge the battery in a high temperature environment. The performance of the battery is unstable under high temperature conditions. For example, if the battery is charged immediately after exposure to the sun or placed in a high temperature environment, the heat dissipation is not good, and the battery life will be shortened.
