With the introduction of the "dual carbon" goal of interest countries, more and more people have entered the lithium battery industry. Many industries, especially the electronics industry, have an increasing demand for lithium batteries, which are the preferred energy storage. Including motorcycles, two-wheeled electric vehicles, three-wheeled electric vehicles and four-wheeled vehicles. Most electric vehicles on the market are powered by lithium batteries.
The material of the lithium battery itself cannot be overcharged, overdischarged, overcurrent, short circuit and high temperature charge and discharge, so the lithium battery must be equipped with a corresponding protection board.
The lithium battery protection board is the charge and discharge protection of the series of lithium battery packs; when fully charged, it can ensure that the voltage difference between the single cells is less than the set value (usually 20mV) to achieve uniform charging of the single cells of the battery pack and effectively improve the series connection. Charging effect in charging mode; simultaneously detect overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit and overtemperature of each single cell in the battery pack to protect and extend battery life; undervoltage protection can prevent each single cell Damaged by overdischarge during discharge.
The protection function of the lithium battery is usually completed by the protection circuit board and current devices such as PTC. The protection board is composed of electronic circuits, which can accurately monitor the voltage of the cell and the current of the charging and discharging circuit at any time under the environment of -40 to 85, and control the on-off of the current circuit in time. PTC can prevent the battery from being seriously damaged in a high temperature environment.
Common lithium battery protection boards usually include control ICs, MOS switches, resistors, capacitors, and auxiliary devices such as fuses, PTC, NTC, ID, and memory. Among them, the control IC controls the MOS switch to be turned on under normal conditions, so that the cell is connected to the external circuit. When the voltage or loop current of the cell exceeds the specified value, it immediately controls the MOS switch to turn off, thereby protecting the safety of the cell.
Generally, the controller (IC) is required to detect and control the voltage of the battery and the working current and voltage of the charging and discharging circuit at -25~85. Under all normal conditions, the C-MOS switch is turned on, and the battery and protection circuit board are in normal working condition. When the battery voltage or the operating current in the circuit exceeds the preset value of the comparison circuit in the control IC, within 15~30ms (different control ICs and C-MOS have different response times), the control IC will have different response times .
So, can lithium batteries be charged without a protective plate?
Lithium batteries include titanium lithium, ternary lithium and lithium iron phosphate. Ternary lithium has been commonly used before. All the colleagues of ternary lithium know that the protective plate cannot be used, which is prone to dangerous problems. But now the market for lithium iron phosphate is getting bigger and bigger, almost surpassing ternary lithium. Some people say that lithium iron phosphate batteries are not afraid of overcharging and overcharging, then others will say that lithium batteries do not need a protective plate.
But the professional suggestion is to use a protective plate, because lithium iron phosphate is also lithium, which determines that it cannot be overcharged. Iron phosphate might be the point though, just because a guard plate isn't needed. This is unscientific and dangerous. I have so many customers that many are afraid to take the risk without using a protective plate. If customers know that your lithium battery is not using a protective plate, will they buy it?
The lithium battery protection board, as the name suggests, is used to protect the lithium battery. The function of the lithium battery protection board is to protect the battery from over-discharge, over-charge, over-current, and output short-circuit protection.
People who think that lithium batteries do not need a protection board believe that whether the protection board is connected or not, the lithium battery will be damaged, and the protection board will discharge the electricity of the lithium battery that is not used for a long time. Obviously, I don't really understand what the fenders do. The role of the protective plate for the lithium battery is equivalent to adding a protective barrier. The function of the protection board is to ensure the safety of the lithium battery and prolong its service life. Without shields, life is not only difficult to guarantee, but also very dangerous.
